On Your Mark Services
On Your Mark provides excellence in their programming and has been acknowledged with awards from the National Safety Council, New York City Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services, New York Special Olympics and others.
The organization operates 10 group homes, 16 supported apartments and developed and oversees 5 homes owned by people with disabilities - promoting independence and community living for more than 100 adults.
The following programs are in addition to the residential aspect of our organization:
- DAY HABILITATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING - This program includes two community cafes, a gift store and a vegetable garden that serves the public and are run by people with disabilities with the support of On Your Mark staff.
- THERAPEUTIC RECREATION SERVICES - This service is in place to develop social, leisure, fitness and motor skills for all ages through after-school, evening, weekend, camp and overnight respite trips.
- FAMILY SUPPORT AND IN-HOME SERVICES - Our agency seeks to teach daily living and play skills to enable families of individuals with disabilities to thrive.
- SERVICE COORDINATION - We assist over 300 families in locating, accessing and ensuring quality services.
In January 2008 On Your Mark employed over 300 full-time and part time staff serving 700 children and adults with disabilities. By January 2010, when the renovations are completed, On Your Mark will have the potential to serve 2000 people that will include family members, individuals on our waiting list, people from other agencies and community member without disabilities will promote a unique reverse inclusion model.
